Do’s and Don’ts in Expository Essays

Expository essays writing like any other kind of essay writing obligates you to following certain rules and avoiding certain things. Thus, there are certain do’s and don’ts in expository essays. So, if you want to write a good expository essay, keep to these rules.
•    While writing expository essays, DO:
-    Write to the point and provide the most important information in your essay;
-    Explain each term or word that may be not clear to your reader;
-    Supply the text of your essay with good and reasonable examples. Everyone learns by examples, so, it is more than important to convey your main idea through the presentation of vivid examples and evidences;
-    Treat your reader equally;
-    Keep to the structure required;
-    Keep to the style of formatting required;
-    Formulate a catchy thesis statement;
-    Make a good conclusion.
•    While writing expository essays, DO NOT:
-    Give a superior number of details that do not serve for covering your topic;
-    Use an overcomplicated language. Treat your reader equally. Too many terms or professional jargons will only worsen the situation. You are explaining something to your reader but not boasting with your knowledge obtained;
-    Focus on the secondary information. Stick to your main idea and focus on the thoughts and ideas that serve for conveying it;
-    Make any grammar, spelling or punctuation mistakes. It is better to consult dictionaries and tutorials on English grammar.
If you know what things you should and you should not do while writing your expository essay, you will certainly make it perfect.
