Expository Essays – What are They About?
As for me, expository essays are one of the most interesting kinds of the essays to write. When writing the expository essays, you need to explain something – an event, an idea and so on. The tutors usually are looking for the author’s opinion, his/her point of view in the expository essays. So, you just need to think of the topic that you are knowledgeable about and give your explanations.
Let us consider such an issue: why sloth is considered to be bad and can be found among seven deadly sins? Somebody may think that it is just another religious topic, which is explained in Bible. Still, this is a problem that we can see in our everyday life.
On the one hand, it does not seem to be a big problem. Somebody is lazy and this is his/her business. But let us consider whether it is fair in the relation to the other members of society. Those people who do nothing also use all the achievements of the civilization, but what did they do to contribute to those achievements?
You know, even those people who are not scientists, researchers or politicians also contribute to the progress of our society. Even a simple plumber, shop assistant or builder does his bit to the progress.
Besides, I think that sloth engenders some other negative features. I am sure that a lazy person is an indifferent person. And what can be worse than indifference? I think the most awful crimes are committed with a silent consent of the indifferent people. They just do not care that somebody will suffer.
So, this was my point of view on a certain problem. You can introduce yours on any other issue and this is going to be your expository essay.
