Expository Essay
An expository essay is a kind of the written paper that is directed to explain information to the reader. If you are to write an expository essay, you should possess a large scope related to the area you are considering.
The major objective of the expository essay is to present the material in a clear and logical way. Your reader should get the point of what you mean. While explaining something to your reader, treat your reader neither like a child, nor like a Doctor of sciences. Just be equal to your reader, try to feel his/her likes and dislikes, priorities and objections. This, of course, does not mean you should agree your reader with everything. Be polite, confident, and the result will please you.
Below you will find what your expository essay should be like:
- Clear. Your reader should understand what is meant under your thoughts;
- Informative. Present as much useful information as possible. Present only the most important issues, do not focus on unnecessary details;
- Logically consecutive. If you jump from one idea to another, nobody will catch the point. Besides, it is much easier to read the text where each of the parts flows gradually from one another. Try not to confuse your reader by separate thoughts and ideas given. Respect your reader, do not provide absolute nonsense in your essay;
- Up-to-date. The burning problems are much more interesting to read about than the worn ones. Try to choose the topic that would be relevant.
